Welcome to Reed Between the Lines Wiki, the Reed Between the Lines resource
Reed Between the Lines is a new BET series that follows a modern-day blended family as they navigate life's ups and downs with wit and humor. The pilot was written by Kellie R. Griffin. It was picked up by BET on April 12, 2011 with a 10-episode order, which was increased to 25 in early November 2011. It began airing on October 11, 2011. The series stars Girlfriends' Tracee Ellis Ross as Carla Reed and The Cosby Show's Malcolm-Jamal Warner. Ross and Warner also serve as producers as well. The first season ended on December 20, 2011. On April 13, 2012, BET renewed Reed for a second season to air in October.
Season 1: Episode 24: Let's Talk About Talking - Alex comes to find out that his dad is driving his mom crazy. So, Carla tells her to speak up for herself. Later, the kids recieve decidedly old fashioned I ♥ MY GRANDPARENTS t-shirts, in which they (minus Alexis) try to get rid of.
Season 1: Episode 25: Let's Talk About Dating Advice - In the season finale, Carla speaks at a Women's Empowerment seminar, and she completely disagrees with another speaker's "words of wisdom" for the women. Meanwhile, Keenan is enlisted in a popular clique in school, but he was only accepted because the leader likes Kaci. Now, Kaci is at crossroads on whether she should tell Keenan.
(Coming October 2012)
In November 2011, along with the increase in the order of the first season, BET also ordered a spin-off about a character Jacob Latimore played in the first season. His character, Jacob Matthews is a 14-year old prodigy who attends a historically black college. The series, Young Man on Campus, is scheduled to air in 2012.
...that Carla is thought to be a sucessor to Joan Clayton from Girlfriends?
...that the order for the first season of Reed Between the Lines changed 3 times?
...that a spin-off is in the works?
